I’ve got three new ones I’m working on at the moment. All are quite good so far and I’m flying through them.

Foxcraft” by Inbali Iserles

In the vein of “Guardians of Ga’Hoole”, this book is about a young girl fox who is driven from her home by a pack murderous foxes and chased around a human city, trying to find her family. In the course of her adventure she comes across a male fox who has been sent to search for her brother and from him begins to learn the ways of Foxcraft, the particular brand of magic foxes are blessed with. So far this book has been awesome, and I can’t wait to dive into the next book in the series when this one is finished.

Dream a Little Dream” by Kerstin Gier

An English translation of a German novel, this first in a trilogy is about Olivia Silver, who comes to live in London with her mother and younger sister only to learn that her mother is moving them in with her new boyfriend and his family. To make matters worse, she starts to have bizarre lucid dreams where her future stepbrother and his friends perform dark rituals. When she’s asked to join them to provide a missing ritual component, she agrees out of a desire to see the mystery solved. So far this book has been great too. Very mysterious, very realistic in its portrayal of the characters. Quite interested to see where this goes.

Lord of Runes” by Dave Gross

Set in the world of the tabletop RPG “Pathfinder”, this book features a sorcerer and his demon bodyguard as they go through the library of a dead comrade to fulfill his last wish, only to uncover a mystery involving great power. I’m not very far into this one yet, but so far its quite exciting and interesting. I like the juxtaposition of the two characters’ points of view, with the sorcerer being very bookish and the demon being very action oriented. I think it will add a nice dimension to the book.
