Works in Progress Update: June 2017

June has been a slow but steady month for me. A wise turtle once told me this is how ones wins races.

Roc Rider continues to get better with editing. I haven’t had much chance to work on the story treatment for book two, mostly due to the violent death of a major appliance eating up time on the days I had intended to work on it.

The choose-your-path adventure game rapidly approaches its July playable demo release. For those who may be wondering, yes you can die in the game. Actually there’s rather a lot of ways to die. Good thing there’s a back button!

I also got a new short story for the blog underway this month. I had intended to release it in June, but I got started on it too late in the month and won’t quite manage that. I’m having rather more than fun than I thought I would (and I expected to have plenty) writing these shorts for the blog (if you missed the first one, it’s here). Which leads me to wonder if I shouldn’t follow in the footsteps of my friend Lindsay Schopfer and start collecting shorts for an anthology sometime after Roc Rider releases. Could be fun, but I’d like to know what you all think of the idea? Tempting as the idea is, if I do decide to do it I won’t start until after Roc Rider is out. That way I’ll have ample opportunity to work out how they’ll fit into the rest of my writing process as I start in on book two.

That’s it for this month’s update. Happy reading all!
