Works in Progress Update: A Return to Audiobooks

I write this post a couple of weeks before it will go up (the evening of July 13th to be precise), but I wanted to go ahead and get it down while the day was fresh in my mind. Two exciting things happened today.

First, this morning I completed the draft of the short I’ve been writing off and on as a freebie for the newsletter. There is still all the editing/revising/feedback etc. to be accomplished, but it should be out to subscribers before long.

This story is one I rather enjoy that takes place in a unique world from my other published works. I’m quite excited for when I can bring it to you.
Don’t worry; I’ve already made some progress on Roc Rider Three. But I figured while I was between books would be an excellent time to get this story wrapped up and released.

Second, I was finally able to start recording for my audiobooks again. A few weeks back, I began recording in earnest at long last, after putting the audiobook project on hold until Rising Storm finished.

Then, my microphone died. Sigh.

After some research on different mics, I finally found one that would produce good results without being cost-prohibitive. It arrived a few days ago, and tonight I was able to start re-recording audio.

Of course, I find myself having to re-record everything I had previously done because the new mic sounds different enough from the old one that it would be quite noticeable to switch in the middle. Still, I’m excited.

When will the first audio edition of mine release? This being my first audiobook attempt, I honestly have no idea how long it will take. I’m hoping that maybe I can have it out by the end of the year, but there are no guarantees.

I hope you’re all as excited about these projects as I am, and I can’t wait to deliver them to you.
